Ginger flapjacks

Recently I have been into baking  – I made banana bread the other week (I’m making another one today) and this week I have made some ginger flapjacks.

Flapjacks are relatively easy to make and they take no time at all and are pretty much mess free.

 You will need:

125g butter or margarine
125g Demerara sugar (I used light brown instead)
5 tbsp Golden Syrup
225g Porridge oats
1 tsp Ground ginger

1)Preheat oven to 190c/375F/Gas mark 5. Grease a 20cm sandwich tin.
2)Melt the butter in a large saucepan and stir in the sugar and the syrup.
3)Stir in the porridge oats and ground ginger.
4)Pour mixture into sandwich tin and spread evenly.
5)Bake for 20 mins, then remove and leave to cool for 15 mins.
6)Score into sizeable pieces (I managed to make 20 small pieces)
7)Leave to cool completely then enjoy!

What more to say then I hope you enjoy making these. Let me know if you do try them out 🙂

When I saw the last picture here I thought you had a Mickey-Mouse shaped tin, then I realised it was just your oven hobs! haha 🙂
