Music is one of my first loves (unless you count Lotus Spread) and I am very rarely not listening to it. You name the occasion and there’s a 90% chance that I will be listening to music doing it. Over the years, my taste has probably been quite questionable at times (some early 90’s bands and utter cheese making the cut) but I would say that generally my taste is pretty varied.
So for today’s post I thought I would do a ‘Soundtrack of my life’ to share some musical insights into my taste.
First Album:
Unless you want to include those albums I stole from my parents when I was about 7 (ABBA and Meatloaf if you want to know), my first album I owned was Spice Girls – Spice.
Song that makes me happy:
There are so many songs that generally make me happy. I think a good song is one that can turn a bad mood into a pretty good mood. I find that anything that reminds me of growing up or something that is musical theatre based is a winner. I particularly love ‘So Much Better’ from Legally Blonde.

First Gig:
Honestly, I’m not sure how many cool points I’ll gain for this but my first gig was B*Witched in 1999 at the SECC. To be fair, I was young.
Song I wish I had written:
Can I pass on this one? There are so many great songs that I can’t think of one that really stands out that I can say ‘I wish I had written’

Song that reminds me of being a teen:
Now you’re asking…although I would probably say ‘Hey Ya’ by Outkast. Memories of coming home from a 18th birthday come flooding back when this is played.
Sweatiest Gig:
Most of the gigs I have been to have been incredibly sweaty (or maybe I just sweat more, haha) but I would say Muse was preeeeetty sweaty (and probably also the one I picked up the most bruises)
Karaoke Song:
As a general thing, I don’t do Karaoke, haha. Although if I did, it would probably be Dancing Queen by ABBA
Best Gig:
This is incredibly difficult – I have been to many,many gigs over the years and each one of them has been amazing in their own unique way. Although, I must say Coldplay was pretty special.
